BUCHAREST: Romania's Prime Minister Emil Boc survived a fourth no-confidence vote this year on Thursday, as expected, showing his fragile coalition can push ahead with reforms to keep a 20 billion euro IMF-led bailout on track.

"The government survived this motion," Dumitru Pardau, a member of the counting committee said while talking to a British news agency.

Debates were briefly suspended earlier after a public television employee jumped off the hall's balcony to protest at the government's austerity drive including wage cuts and tax hikes in the recession-hit economy.
