POL prices likely to rise ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has drafted a summery seeking hike by Rs.4 to 7 per liter in Petroleum Products (POL) prices from January 1, 2011, however, the final decision of weather or not to approve summary would rest with Prime Minister Gilani, Geo News reported Thursday.

Sources told Geo News that the said summary was prepared keeping in view hike in prices of POL products in international market.

Prices of petrol and diesel may go up by Rs.6.40 and Rs.4.50 per liter respectively, while High-Octane fuel’s price may inflate by Rs.7.20/liter.

The summary would seek inflation in Kerosene oil price by Rs.3.50/liter; however, it may also happen that government decreases some amount of petroleum levy, sources said.

According to sources, the summary was prepared seeing the fast inflation of POL prices in international market.
