| KARACHI: An accused, Lal Chand, in Karachi gang rape case has been arrested by the area police and investigation has begun against him, Geo News reported Tuesday. According to the sources, the accused contacted the victim girl and sought apology. The police traced the number and nabbed him. Intensive investigation by the police put the girl into a difficult situation, sources said. The party was held at the flat of the person arrested and the victim girl also attended it, it was also learnt. According to the details, a woman was allegedly abducted, gang-raped and later dumped in a posh locality of the city by unidentified men on Monday morning. Police sources said a team of the Darakhshan police station, in whose jurisdiction the incident occurred, reached the Civil Hospital after they learnt that two women who were allegedly sexually assaulted had arrived there. According to the police sources, initially the women refused to give statements but later they agreed and told the police their names as K, 20, and S, 24. A senior police officer, who requested not to be named, said that in her statement to the police, K said she lived in a flat situated on Khyaban-i-Jami, Phase-II, Defence. He said that to celebrate the birthday of a friend in Defence, K asked S to come over. On Sunday night she hired a Vitz car from a rent-a-car outlet in Defence and went to the birthday party. After attending the party they were retuning home late Sunday night when the incident took place. |
