MQM quits federal cabinet, sit on treasury benches | GEO | LIVE GEO NEWS | GEO NEWS | GEO TV

KARACHI: Sindh Youth Affairs Minister Faisal Sabzwari the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), exercising caution, is quitting the federal cabinet; not the treasury benches, Geo News reported Monday.

Talking to Geo News, Sabzwari said MQM did not want to enervate the government; accordingly, it will quit federal cabinet, as staying in these ‘useless’ ministries will entail them nothing, adding MQM could not do anything for the welfare and well being of the people while staying in the ministries.

MQM minister said the party’s decision is not meant for toppling the government nor weakening it; therefore, they will sit on treasury benches.

The party will continue its cooperation with the government, he added demanding all the problems of people should be resolved.

Sabzwari stressed the party was not consulted in decision-making; however, the party will continue extending cooperation to the government.

MQM gave many positive suggestions to the government, he added urging the government to take up practical steps instead of just talking.
